Hours of power with Kensington’s ‘big’ iPhone and iPod touch battery and Mini Battery

Two features set Kensington Battery Pack and Charger for iPhone and iPod apart from other external lithium batteries: it doesn’t attach directly to the gadget and it has the largest capacity.
Kensington sells two batteries – this larger one ($69.99) and a second, smaller battery that is named the Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G, 3G (Black).
The Kensington Mini Battery, like the RichardSolo Smart Backup Battery and others, attaches directly to the iPhone.
The larger Kensington Battery Pack connects to the iPhone via a cable, thus eliminating one of the chief concerns with the other packs: unstable connections.
It also provides a whopping 100 additional hours of music, or 21 hours of video or 6 hours of talk. Its capacity is 1800mAh, the same as mophie’s Juice Pack and more than RichardSolo’s 1200mAh.

The battery is relatively light, weighing in at 3.5 ounces. It is 4 inches long, 2.2 inches wide and slightly more than a 1¼-inch thick.
The USB 2.0 to 30-pin charging cable allows for plenty of movement while the battery is attached.
In addition to the charging cable, the battery comes with a wall outlet power adapter and a charging cable that connects the battery to either the wall adapter or a USB port.
The battery can be charged with the iPhone attached, with the iPhone’s internal battery recharging first.
